12.8.2, HEAT, and DC Offset Bug
I've stumbled on a suspected bug in 12.8.2 that was supposed to have been addressed in 12.8.1. When turning the HEAT knob to the right, it is creating a substantial amount of DC Offset. It gets much worse at higher sample rates. To recreate, simply create a new session at 96khz, add one audio track with the signal generator plug. Generate a tone (I used 1khz and then again with 10khz) and turn on heat, turning the knob to the right. On your master fader, use a plugin with an RTA (I used Equality and also Insight). Look at the results. It gets worse as you increase the HEAT processing. On extreme settings with the tone at -10db, I was able to show DC offset that was as high as around -10dbfs! Anyone else able to recreate this? I'm on Windows 10... curious if Mac users are seeing this as well.

Re: 12.8.2, HEAT, and DC Offset Bug
How far back does this bug go (I saw it was 'finally' fixed in 2018.X).
Did it appear in a certain version or has it been there since HEAT was a thing? |
