Pro Tools Express loud static noise

Hi. I am new to ProTools and this forum. I am also a newbie and trying to learn PT so sorry for questions that may be simple for others as while I am learning are difficult to me.

I purchased an AVID Solo with PT Express. I installed everything and it seems to work mechanically except for one thing, I get a loud unbearable static similar to "white noise" that shows up randomly while trying to play back a track.

I have always used Sonar and have NEVER had this before. My desktop pc is a little older but was a gaming pc I converted into my studio pc has always done the job until i got PT. I have 8Gb ram and it is optimized for audio recording. There is no internet on it and it is stripped down with the basic programs I need to run the OS which is Windows 7 64bit.

I have searched a solution all over the internet and can not find anything that has helped. I have tried a new cable, reloading PT and nothing changes. So I loaded it on my laptop to see if the problem persisted, and I am not experiencing any noise at all which leads me to the possibility that my desktop pc can not run PT. Sucks because I never had a problem like this with my Cakewalk Sonar. So any ideas? My system specs are listed below. i know its an older system but like I sad it runs 64bit Sonar Producer 8.5.3 without any issues.

Is there a problem with trying to respond to this post? I see a ton of views but not one reply. Is it that no one has had this problem before?
