Default eventide

Hi all,

I really want to get the power of the Eventide H3000 series into my system. I have an 003. It seems Eventide only makes their Anthology bundle for TDM systems. Maybe I am shooting the moon, but is there any way to convert TDM plug-ins to RTAS?

If not, is there another plug-in bundle out there that has similar effects as the H3000-8000 that you could recommend? Thanks.

Check out SoundToys. I own both Anthology II and the Sound Toys stuff. While not exactly the same they do some very similar stuff, especially the TimeBlender and PitchBlender plug-ins.

You do realize these two are TDM only?

I forgot the blender plugs were TDM. The one's that are native are still pretty cool, although the two I mentioned are probably the closest to the eventide. The SoundTools guys are former Eventide guys.

I don't have any other ideas, unfortunately.

Thanks Chris. The soundtoys stuff looks pretty cool. I'll download the demo and try it out. Still I wish there was a way to use Eventide plugins with my current set up. Their plugins are expensive enough without having to put up the money for a TDM system to even run them.

Aren't there Eventide 3000 impulses for the Altiverb plug-in? Maybe someone here has used them.

Doesn't anybody else wish Anthology II was RTAS too?

I have the SoundToys bundle but I'd really like to get my hands on the Anthology II pack.

Maybe we can start a petition..

A few years ago I was talking with someone at Digi about why some plugs were TDM only and it seemed to be that certain effects used too much processing power for native. For example, maybe a certain effect used 3 TDM chips by itself, etc.

However, nowadays I don't see where that would be an issue with where native power is at, so I'm curious why some plugs are still tdm only. Another odd example is the Waves PS22 Stereo Maker, which makes mono recordings into pseudo-stereo. This is TDM only. And yet their new UM225/226 surround upmixer is both TDM and native. So it takes too much processing to go mono to stereo, but to go stereo to 5.1 surround works fine? Hopefully someone can chime in who knows more.
