PT 7 LE crashing?

Hi, I have had several crashes recently that were recoverable. The problem I am experiencing is every time I close out a session ( that includes Drumcore rewired and MIDI files for drumbeats ) and quit Pro Tools I get the apple message " The application Pro Tools has unexpectadly quit...." etc etc. It is really annoying. This version does not seems as stable as LE 6. whatever.

Any thoughts? Thank you.

Same problem here......and thats not the half of it! 6.9 ran seamlessly but since upgrading to 7 my lifes been a nightmare. The issues I have have been covered on other pages..namely ' buffer underruns..blah blah too many plug-ins blah blah!' Running ONE compressor and ONE EQ obviously is far too much for my measly G5 dual 2.7 with 2gig ram! Guess I'll put up with it until Digi come up with a fix to fix the fix.Which will be sometime NEXT WEEK....hint hint!...... in the mean-time...anyone know where I can get some cheap hose-pipe or a length of rope?!

What do you mean by "new harness type"? Are you referring to the firewire connection?

Hi,

It wouldn't be because you need to manually close the rewired app before you exit PT? It's bizarre, wih other DAWs, I have to manually open the rewire app but PT wants to open it itself via the insert. Whereas when it come to closing, I have to manually close the rewire app before Pro Tools or I get the same message.

Oh yeah, I will sure try that next time. It almost makes sense. I have just been shutting down Pro Tools and not the Rewire app. Thanks for the tip.


Morgan Post, by new harness type, I mean it has the latest Power Harness internally. It is a unit where the serial number ends with G.

Thanks for this. I've been curious as to what this "power harness" is that I've seen mentioned many times.
