"With Windows-based systems, support of MIDI Time Stamping and MIDI I/O brings some of the most accurate playback timing resolution available on any platform, as continues to be the case on Mac-based systems as well"

So...Windows users now have the best MIDI timing on any platform. And so do Macs. Makes no sense.

Not sure about this update. Might be too little too late.

I'm pretty sure MIDI timestamping only works with the Digi MIDI I/O module...
And it's a $75 upgrade, except for recent buyers.

LAAAAAAAME

They want $75 for a 6.x update? Then they'll want more for PTLE 7? Screw that. Way too little too late for sure. Just when I had hope of Digi being cool and giving me a reason to stay with them. Oh well.

Support for multiple plug-in outputs enables mixing and processing of individual sound sources from instrument plug-ins*
So this means NI Battery can be used on multiple channels now?

They could call it 7, and $75 would be OK?

This ends up being the same discussion as Waves' latest release. Ongoing software development requires ongoing software revenue. Even for minor features and bug-fixes.

Battery works fine on multiple channels via direct connect under PT 5.1. Did something change with versions 6.x and OS 10.x?

I'll second that notion tele_player. As a purchaser of an MBox with Pro Tools LE 6.0, I've been more than happy with the length of updates that Digi has provided. I just paid $299 for an upgrade from Logic Platinum 6 to Logic Pro 7, so I find this $75 update quite a value. How soon 'til I can place my order at the Digistore?

I don't mind paying for updates occasionally if they provide a lot of useful upgrades. This is the most disappointing upgrade I've seen.

NO faster than realtime bounce
NO freeze tracks
NO CD burn from within PT

75 bucks for beat detective? We've worked around that for years with ReCycle and now Live

I think this as big as getting stereo audio tracks in 5.1 and keyboard focus and the workspace browser in 6. In fact it's probably bigger. Don't make a judgement call until you see it in action.

My thoughts on your comments-

Offline bounce-every other DAW that does it screws it up somehow. The track NEVER sounds like the same.

Freeze tracks-roll your own using bounce and deactivate track. If you have no problem exporting audio, switching apps and then importing it agian (in the case of recycle) to do beat slicing, rolling your own freeze should be a breeze.

No CD burn from within PT- c'mon now....be serious here. Toast alone costs somethig like $69. Apple disk burning is free

I'd rather pay $75 for this upgrade than $299 for that bug-ridden POS Logic upgrade. Like I said, until you've actually used 6.7 you just don't know the kind of value that $75 is. I may be able to retire my copy of Logic Pro with this update.

peace-
kc
