Mbox noise
I just got an Mbox to use with my Powerbook G4. It's producing digital noise that's coming out of my speakers hooked up to the line out and I can't get rid of it. When I unplug the power to my laptop, the noise is reduced, but still there. With the Mbox unplugged, all I have to do is touch the edge of the usb connector to the edge of the port and get the noise. When the CPU is thinking, the noise coming out of the speakers directly coincides with it. I spoke with tech support and they couldn't figure it out. If anyone has had a problem like this, please let me know what you did to fix it. Thanks.

Re: Mbox noise
Try a different (better) USB cable. The one that comes with the Mbox seems to me to be pretty low quality. I had a hum through the monitors that was present if phantom power was engaged. A nice thick Belkin USB cable fixed that.
Also, are your connections balanced? |
