iTunes but not PT sessions out through S/PDIF / Coax out Digi003. HELP!
Hi - First time DUC user. I have a Digi003 rack using PT 8.05 on a MacPro. I am trying to run audio out through S/PDIF (RCA) from the 003 to my home entertainment center but have had only limited success; I can get iTunes to play through but not any ProTools sessions. Basically, any audio I run through DigiCore plays through the system EXCEPT for protools sessions. The problem: I can't start up PT with DigiCore running... PT makes me close it first. Then, ProTools will play but I don't get audio out through my home entertainment system. I've tried changing from 16 to 24bit sessions but haven't had any luck. Any suggestions??

In Pro Tools' Hardware Setup, make sure the Optical Format is set to ADAT.
In the I/O Setup, delete all paths from the Inputs tab and then hit "Default". Do the same for the outputs. Now assign the I/O appropriately in your session and you'll get audio out the S/PDIF as long as that it where you assign it.

I'm pretty sure home entertainment systems receive TOS over optical where as Pro Tools uses ADAT.
