Avid HD OMNI missing firmware - missing audio interface

Hi,

I just tried to use my hardware, after some weird noises come from all the outputs. I tried the digitest and it come up with missing firmware! (HD OMNI) info.

I then reset using the HD omni setup with no luck.
Tried again the digitest and this time I tried to update firmware, as we all know there's a bug that the spinning wheel appear and it seems as stopped, I didn't quit digitest and after a couple of minutes the HD Omni reboot and again state that it have the version 2.10. I then shutdown everything (normal workflow after you use digitest). And guess what.

I tried to open Pro tools HD 12.5 and the missing audio interface appear. I tried both Digi ports of the HD Native TB, no luck.

I need some help, to see if this is a broken unit.

update:

I've got sometimes the AAE 1125 and the DSI error 1125.

I've tried other minidigitlinks cables.

I have never seen that behavior with OMNI before.... Let me check on a few things for you before I refer you to Avid Support...

Ive tried in another Mac too, changed the thunderbolt cable.

Today Ive bring it back to my work where we have at least 6 HD omni and try to see if it works. Ill update with that test too.

Just another update:

I've tried connected to 4 different Pro tools workstations with no luck. When Pro tools is opening asks me to connect an audio interface because is not detecting any.

Hi,

I'm having the same problem, but with my HD IO digital. In Digitest it shows that it has no firmware and when I update it to version 5.5 it says it is successful, but when I restart Digitest I get the same problem. The leds constantly flickering.

Hope someone can help!

I tried everything I need some help to see if I can do anything more before send it back. Im kind of fuc??"#"%" up because I have some work to finish... arghhh...

Hi Marco,

Have you made any progress with your Omni? Mine is still working good, only my HD IO is having the "Missing Firmware" problem.

My dealer says it needs to be repaired with Avid, but as it is still recognized by Digicheck, I 'd think it must be a software problem. That shouldn't be that difficult to repair I think?

I hope Avid can chime in here so maybe we can make it to work.
