PT 10.3.8 crashing on DAE Objects on startup

I’m having a serious problem with a very old system. Mac OS 10.8.5, Pro Tools 10.3.10, 192 interface. It was mostly stable until a few days ago. Now it won’t even start— it keeps crashing on “DAE objects created”. Holding “n” during start up doesn’t help. I’ve already done a complete re-install, which didn’t help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You don't have a backup? I would suggest a full fomat and reinstall of OS and PT. Be shure to do the recommended optimizations: Computer Optimization Guides (Mac and Windows).
I never trusted the "progress info" on the PT startup screen to tell me anything about what might be a cause of problems. I suspect that info to often say what part of the process has been completed rather than what's loading now.

So doing a full re-install rather than just a “safe” re-install solved the start up issue and everything seems to be working fine, with one exception. Now the C|24 is offline, and it doesn’t show up when I try to set it up in the peripherals menu. Nothing has changed with the hardware or network settings so I’m at a loss as to how to get PT to recognize the C|24 again.

No Eucon installed correct?
C|24 direct to Mac Port #1?
Rescan from Peripherals>Ethernet for both ports (Eucon box not checked)
if that won't show the C|24 the reseat the cat 5 1st, reverse the cable if it's the digital-cable
