Default Pro Tools LE 7.1 Update

Pro Tools LE 7.1 Updates for Mac OS X and Windows XP Now Available

For details and downloads, please see the following page:

Pro Tools LE 7.1 Updates

Pro Tools LE 7.1 includes all Pro Tools LE 7.0.cs1 through 7.0cs5 fixes, plus the following new or enhanced features:

Default Track Timebase when Creating New Tracks

When creating tracks with the New Track command, the Track Timebase (samples or ticks) will default to the timebase that was last used for the track type in the New Track dialog.

In addition, when creating new audio tracks with the Import > Audio to Track command or by dragging audio files into the timeline, the Track Timebase (samples or ticks) will default to the New Track dialog’s last used timebase for audio tracks. Exceptions are tick-based file formats (such as ACID and REX files), which will default to ticks.

Support for Co-Installation of Pro Tools LE and M-Powered on the Same Computer

Pro Tools LE 7.1 and Pro Tools M-Powered 7.1 can be installed on the same Digidesign-qualified computer.
Co-installation is only supported when Pro Tools LE and M-Powered have the exact same version number.

Bought the DV Toolkit 1 not long ago and just learned that this will be disabled when running 7.1 software. Money down the drain....will there be an attractive upgrade path for DV Toolkit 1 owners to DV Toolkit 2 ?

Don't know how "attractive" it is, but the upgrade to DV Toolkit 2 is $295. Maybe if you bought DV Toolkit within a certain amount of time they'll let up upgrade for free.

Yeah, right.

Ah - thanks. Couldn´t find that anywhere on Digistore or elsewhere. Seems OK since its the price difference between version 1 and 2.

I downloanded 7.1, but when I run the installer, it's asking me to uninstall 7.0 first.

Is that right?

Default Reason Sound driver bugs fixed

Digi seem to be low key about this or perhaps nobody else cares but some of the sound driver bugs introduced at 6.7 seem to be fixed including the propellerhead reason driver error. A little late but excellent stuff. Well worth upgrading for that alone in my opinion.

I did have a blue screen of death the first time i ran PT 7.1 after the upgrade but since then everything seems OK.

Okay...I uninstall 7.0, reboot, says it needa a valid install of LE to install. Re-install 7.0, try to install 7.1, says you need to uninstall any form of LE. Rinse and repeat. Wtf is going on?
