Default Fighting faders?

Hey there..

I've noticed that sometimes when using my control24, i have to fight the faders, then they just pop back to whatever position they were in...the computer doesnt seem to register the movement... if i press down on the fader and wiggle a little then move it.. more often then not it works....

I'm using a netgear hub inbetween the mac and the control24...

any ideas?

sounds like your faders are dirty and/or damaged.
if your c24 is not under warranty, i recommend cleaning and replacing the ones that need it.

of course you can always call digi

This may or may not apply, but I find that on my C24, I have to start any movement on the faders after starting playback. If I try holding the fader before playback, the fader does fight the movement. If I move the fader after starting playback, there is no problem.

Perhaps this would apply to you.

Good luck...TC

Early NECAM touch fader systems in low humidity could be helped by using hand lotion, maybe same is true for C-24. Good Luck

make sure you're in the correct automation mode, if you're in read only mode guess what. I hope that with the hand lotion suggestion it was intended that it would be used on the hands and not the faders (duh) studio air conditioning does tend to dry ones pellicule and reduce the external body temperature. This would indeed interfere with the sensor's ability to recognize a touch.

Actually, a lot of touch sense circuitry has an occassional problem with not sensing some engineers.

Hand lotion could work. Not pushing the fader with your finger nail helps.

If the touch sense is in good working order, and it still does not work for a certain engineer, it is because their body capacitance is not high enough. some techs have suggested to some very well known engineers to shove a 100,000uF cap up their........
