Pro Tools 8.0.3 LE upgrade for Windows 7

Hi there, I have a Pro Tools 8.0.3 LE DVD that I used to install the program on my laptop with Windows XP, but recently I had to install windows 7, the thing is that the installation DVD is only compatible with windows xp and vista, although I know that there's already and upgrade for windows 7 on the avid website, when I run the set up of the download upgrade file, it tells me that I need to have already Pro Tools 8.0.3 installed on my computer to do the upgrade and I cannot do that because the DVD that I have does not run with Windows 7. ¿what should I do? Please I need the install pro tools as soon as I can...

Install 8.03 from your DVD. Don't open it.

Then just run latest update (v8.06 I think) over top. The updaters are not full installers so that's why you get the message that PT needs to be installed first. If you don't try & run v8.03 and just install updater over top you should be fine.

Download the 8.0.4 Full installer here

and then run that installer, afterwards update to 8.0.5

Do a clean uninstall of 8.0.3
