Default Lower cost of AIR IEP through Avid

Hi everyone. I had a couple of questions. I was wondering if there was a reason why the AIR Instrument Expansion Pack costs significantly less on Avid's website as opposed to when you go to AIR's website; in other words, is it the exact same product? And also, I was wondering, if I purchase it through Avid, it won't ship to me on DVD will it? I assume it's a download?

Thanks for your help.

It's probably worth stating that what you get from Avid is older and what you get from AIR is newer, updated and in some cases expanded.

Top Jimmy/James: could you possibly find out which version of the AIR Instrument Expansion Pack is currently being offered by Avid?

I see Transfuser2 currently advertised with Avid’s AIEP:
https://shop.avid.com/ccrz__ProductD...ck&&store=shop

So it’s gotta be Structure2 and Velvet2 and Strike2 also, as Avid’s offering 5 Plug-in Formats:

• AAX Native 64
• AAX Native 32
• RTAS
• VST 2
• Audio Unit

Those of us with the original AIEP from AIR Music Technology had to pay extra for the VST 2 and Audio Unit versions that Avid are currently offering for 2/3 the price!

As long as Avid’s AIEP is version 2.0.2 or higher, free Updates to the current version are available from AIR Music Technology’s Product pages.

Avid up until recently sold the Pro Tools Instrument Expansion Pack:
(Avid 99106167600 = 5 RTAS 32-bit Instruments)

http://www.amazon.com/Avid-991061676.../dp/B003DWKM46

http://www.airmusictech.com/product/PTIEP#features

2016 is the 1st time I’ve seen the AIR Instrument Expansion Pack (with 7 Instruments) being sold by Avid.

My bad. I was confusing the AIEP for the PTIEP.

It is the AIEP that is selling in the Avid store. This is an AIR product, not an Avid product. Looking on AIR's site in regards to the AIEP, it does not specify whether Strike 2, Structure 2 and Velvet 2 are part of the expansion pack. It would be best to ask AIR which versions of these instruments come with the AIEP.

I have the current AIEP (PTIEP upgraded via AIR Music Tech/Digital River).
It includes Strike 2, Structure 2 and Velvet 2 (see attached image).

If anyone’s interested in buying the latest AIR Instrument Expansion Pack from Avid, I suggest buying it now - US$209.99 is a great price!

I emailed Simon Bangs (Global Head of Software eCommerce - inMusic Brands), to check.

Simon confirmed: Avid is selling the latest version of V2.
