Default everytime I open a pt template file it duplicates

I set up a studio for a buddy using an mbox 1 and a mac mini running pt 6.9 with Tiger osx (i don't know the version #)

anyways I made a template file for him to load so he didn't have to go through all the hoops to do what he wanted to do,,,, anyways I made the file and saved the session as "template" and then In the info pane for that file I checked the make stationary box and also locked it.....

now everytime we click that file it opens and copys itself as "template copy.pts",, and then "template copy1.pts" then 2.... etc....and they keep stacking up?
and you have to unlock each one if you want to drag it to the trash...

Am I doing something wrong here?

thanx

When I first upgraded to 6.9 from 6.7 I had the same problem. In 6.9 you have to open a template using the File/Open command. You can no longer create a desktop icon to open the template with.

It's a change in the Mac OS.
You now (since Tiger I believe..... but could be wrong) don't open stationary pads by double clicking. Instead, drag the file over the PT icon in the dock to open, or alternatively open using Apple O from within PT.
Kinda wierd I know, and I'm not sure why Apple changed this.....

open pro tools then open your template. it will ask you if you want to start a new session or modify the template.
