Before this turns into an all out 'Grumpy Old Man' thread I'd just like to add my two bits.

Sure, the GUI is a disaster and the recall sheet thing is a bit 'gimmicky' but it's not all bad. I toyed with this thing a bit on a simple drum-loop and had quite a bit of fun with it.

When you RTFM it becomes evident that the boys over at iZotope don't take this one all too serious, it's almost funny.

To put things in perspective here's a concept drawing of the DDLY plug-in by one of the developers included in the manual;
