OSX drivers or proprietary PT6 drivers-what will it be?
Anyone know if Digidesign plans on releasing general, core-audio compliant drivers for the 001, 002, etc. when PT6 comes out so that other software for X (Cubase SX, Logic6) can be used via the digi hardware? Or will digidesign hardware be unique to PT6, so no other software will be able to be used? If the latter is the case, I gotta replace my 001 with a general audio interface that has OSX drivers and that'll support multiple software!!

I don't know for sure, but wouldn't they make an OSX Audio Unit driver but make sure that you can only run PT6 with digi hardware?

Hi guys, use the search function of this forum and it will bring your answers... also, read what Audio Units, CoreAudio and CoreMIDI concepts are at Apple's website so you know what each one of them will do -and won't do- for PT 6.

Digi knows that a lot of people sequence with Logic or DP. Heck, they sell these apps on their website. Chances are they'll continue in the same vein, providing hardware drivers for use with other apps.
