Default BFD 2 Drum mixing in protools

Hello all, does anyone mixed anything in protools 7.4 mpowered using this plug in ?. I have some issues about mixing a drum set with multiple micing. For ex, the kick drum has a kick in mic and a kick out mic. The snare has 3 diferent set and so on...Also there is a Room, ambiance and headroom mic. I know there is not a general rule for this but i least if someone used it, it might help me.

Thanks a lot !
Martin.

Mic closer to the bass drum. Mic farther away from the bass drum.
Mic on top of the snare drum. Mic on bottom of the snare drum.
You have to learn to experiment with these mic set ups.
Also what guitardom said. They are good people over there.
You may want to read the manuel too.

What you would want to do is read articles on drum mixing in general. There's lots of online articles, especially from the websites of audio and industry magazines. All the principles apply to BFD, as it was recorded and assigned tracks the way drums are typically done professionally.

nst7 hit the nail on the head. BFD (as well as many other drum programs) is designed to replicate a well mic'ed multi-tracked drum set. You need to get your head around mixing a multi-tracked drum set.

I've noticed a lately a trend in people using drum programs such as this. They use them to get great sounding drums and then wonder why their mixes still sound flat. The problem they encounter is believing that the drum tones from the program are the end-all-be-all sound. Those sounds are not, they're just a good solid starting point. You still have to mix them like a real drum set.

thanks all for replies. I meant that when i do a song using this kind of programs i try to get the best sound of it because i don´t have the oportunity to have a drum set in my appartment. So, i install it and use it. When i reach the mix part, i DEFINETELY have to change the overall sound because the whole set sounds dull. That´s when a lot of things comes to my mind and the hard part gets in. Does anyone suggest a good book to start from ??. With eq references and so ??. Thanks a lot !.
