Default A way? or Digi can we have a way to ignore chosen drives

Hi,

Short of un-mounting a drive! could there be another way to get PT to ignore certain drives connected to the system!

I have 6 drives now hanging off the back of the mac and i'm sure this is slowing down my system when i open some plugins!! when i open some plugins it takes ages to open and i can hear my external USB drives spinning up, when the USB drives are unmounted the plugs open much faster!!

P.S. I have them set to T for transfer only in workspace! can we have an I for ignore totally?

Chris

Hear Hear Chris!

I'm in the same position , and im sure its slowing the system down.
Im also fed up having protools put database files on drives which have nothing to do with protools!

I vote I for ignore!

While its been discussed before I still think this is a excellent idea. I actually wouldn't mind seeing a properties box come up if you are plugging a unknown drive into the computer while PT is running or launching asking you if you want to add that drive to the pool or ignore it. But yes a Ignore designation would be welcome.

This would be great. PT "attaches" itself to every drive. It is a PITA to have to close PT to unmount a thumb drive from which I just copied a file. The ability to dedicate/ignore specific drives would be welcome. SB

Open workspace ctrl click the drive and choose unmount...

But yes. The option would be nice

For some reason that did not work for me a couple of versions/computers ago.... at least long enough ago for my memory to go south, until you kickstarted it. Can't wait to get home and prove you right! Thanks, SB
