on sunday especially...

second off .. iv'e worked out most of it ..
but i can't get PT to see DT 2.0
no matter if i use the 5.1.3 link , or session file , yes the omf.dll is in the protools folder. yes protools boots up
yes i can do anything BUT use DT 2.0

sorry to be so rude .. ANY help would be truly appreciated

No offense taken, Tom. I learned a long time ago that frustration is a quite normal reaction to situations involving computers, and usually shouldn't be taken personally when directed (initially at least) towards the company involved. [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

Unfortunately, I'm not a tech-head and I haven't used DT 2.0. I do have a copy of the DigiTranslator 2.0 Guide.pdf though.

Have you already been through the installation instructions on page 5 and authorized the application with the DigiTranslator 2.0 key disk? You may want to try removing the authorization, removing the OMF.dll file, then try the install instructions again:
1- Insert the Pro Tools 5.1.3 installer disk and double-click the installer icon.
2- When prompted, check the DigiTranslator 2.0 box and complete the installation, as instructed on-screen...

Then try re-authorizing when prompted during bootup of PT 5.1.3.

Have you tried both of these yet, and is either working:

chapter 3
Importing OMFI to Pro Tools

chapter 4
Exporting from Pro Tools to OMFI

Any error messages, or are the options grayed out?

Sorry if this is all redundant information, just trying to figure out where the problem is coming from. I didn't see anything in the Answerbase FAQs that seemed to relate, but a Text search for DigiTranslator brought up 57 results. Might be something there, I just didn't see it, other than authorizing with the DT 2.0 key disk.

yes i have tried all of this .
no matter how i try to open it (PT)
i get no option to authorize.
ive trashed the dll ( numerous times )
tried to re install it from the disk (cd)
drag -n- drop from other locations
so on and so on ......i'll get on the phone with your people tomorrow ( i'm still covered by tech support)

Try launching the authorization from the key disk.

If the floppy is not mounting at all, check to see if you have a supported usb drive and the most current drivers enabled in your extensions:

Hmmm... yeah...

seems Digitranslator does need more work - or more support between PT/Avid.
Have been experiencing problems getting OMfs to Avid - so far we can get an embedded OMF (created in DT) to reopen in Avid - but I think the quantizing (making sample acurate PT edits frame accurate for AVID) is ****ing **** up - sometimes in Avid the audio will cut out - bizarre - but thats another story (without a full solution yet - any ideas?)...

with regard to your upgrade to DT 2.0...
I had the same scenario - wondering why the programme wasnt opening after autorization...

So I worked backwards...

DT now works from within PT - so opening DT directly doesnt work.

Create a new PT session and IMPORT TRACKS through the EDIT menu.
Your DT dialog box will then show up and your away...
