Default Video monitor vs. projector for mix room

I will soon be constructing a moderate sized 5.1 audio mix room, for mostly independent clients and some broadcast work. Most projects will be documentaries for TV, but mixing for theatrical release is what I'd like to get into. Any pros and cons for installing a video monitor vs. video projector? Do I need both? If I don't have a projector will indie films not come? I am not familiar with projectors - what sizes are standard for a small room?
Thanks in advance.

You need to monitor through a perf screen, so tv monitor is outa question.

You do not need a perf screen unless you want to complete mixes with DOLBY DIGITAL certification.
DTS does not require a perf or micro-perf screen. Broadcast work, CDrom, DVD, Video projects do not need perf screens, and THX PM3 certification does not require a perf screen...
BUT, you do need to make very sure you adheare to the X-curve EQ for Film and the slightly different EQ curve for broadcast mixes. Make sure your room is set up with the appropriate EQ and levels for each type of mix.
We have mixed features, shorts, games, videos, etc on video monitors and projection systems, as well as, actual film... It all works fine if you know what your doing and your room is properly aligned.

With that said... get a micro-perf screen & projection system anyway. Its not really expensive to get into and it'll impress the clients.

You can get a good 10' micro-perf screen with electronic roller system for under $2000, and a acceptable projection system can be had for under $5000. Hmmm.. ok, it is a bit pricy... considering you can get a 61: rear projection TV HD ready for $3000. oh, well.

cheers

Is it possible to easily switch room EQ curves? My facility will have one mix room. Is it as simple as switching room EQ presets? Or does the room need to be designed for film EQ vs. broadcast/video?

I might look into building the room that could house a projector down the road. But I imagine I'd need to plan on bigger real estate for a room w/ projector vs. room with monitor.

Thanks for the valuable info.
