and you think this is caused by one of the digirack plug-ins? I'm not sure I understand...

Noise/whine problems are almost always a result of bad cabling. Make sure you don't have any audio cables near (or crossing) any power-type cables, and that if you have the option of using balanced connections that you're taking advantage of that. CRT (tv style) monitors will also induce noice into a signal if your cables run near them, so be aware of that too.

Hi slim long time no see, Im useing the 002r.on a g5. this was an isue months ago. I am almost certain its a bad driver, or should i say a shady driver, i only get this f------ soumd when i use the 002r, I have a motu 896hd, also my main app is logic,. I only bought the 896 because of the squeeling pig 002r was starting to kill me,.. but the 002 sounds better than the 896,and I would like it to work proper, it sounds like a 747 coming in for a landing,

Do you guys still hear the noise/tone if you listen through headphones connected to your Digi gear as opposed to monitors?

If you're on a G5, try disconnecting any FW800 devices (if you have any) and see if that changes anything.
