Installing Ethernet Card in SC48

Is it possible for a user to install the Ethernet Snake in the SC48? Read in the "fine print" somewhere that those card had to be installed by factory authorized technicians.

And when the ethernet card is installed, is there any limitation to how much other local IO you can have access to?

I even think there are 2 video's on youtube over these topics. I though it was possible when using two remote racks two use output card in de stage racks of an maximum of 2, one still in the console itself. Like one 8 analog and 8 digital out in stage rack 1 in stage rack 2 16 analog out. and in the console insert card. might even be en example in one of the webinars....

I never did an remote update to be clear. but i think it is possible for doing it yourself, not sure how Avid feels about it!!
