Monterey 12.6.8 and PT 2023.6

I was on Monterey 12.6.5 and updated to 12.6.8 in Monterey. Now I am having problems opening some sessions. Anyone running 12.6.8 with no issues?

I am running Monterey 12.6.8 and PT 2023.6 on a Mid 2012 Mac Pro with zero issues. Old sessions open just fine, etc...

Thanks for the info. All of the sudden I'm having random sessions getting stuck on loading a certain track.

Well, if you get in a bind and have a session you can't open, I'd be willing to try and open it for you. You could PM me with a link to a Drop Box account with the session in it and I can give it a go.

Rename the Pro Tools Icon to 2023.6. Install the last working version you used and name that icon to 202x.x (whatever year and version number)

Now you can go back and try opening the session and see if it opens.

Hi David. Thanks for checking in. I originally updated from Mojave to Monterey 12.6.5 because of going up to PT 2023.6. I had no issues with opening some older sessions and everything was working great. But I went up to Monterey 12.6.8 and started having issues. After reinstalling PT, I still had the issue. So I bypassed every plug-in and put them in one at a time, restarting PT every time. Eventually I got to a few of our SSL plug-ins and I found a few that were causing the issue but only when those particular sessions were loaded in. It was weird because some of the SSL plugs from the same versions worked and many didn't.

So I have it all sorted out, but it's a huge drag that sessions from just a few years ago will now at least load in, but all the SSL EQ, dynamics and vocal 'strip' tracks will need to be remixed. I found later versions available but they are 'new' vs2, so though free, I can't see the setting on the original plug-ins. The previous plug-ins aren't just updated versions. I do music for TV and film and commercials, so somehow I'm always referencing past material and cues...
