C8 and MIDI
Hello All, I am need of a quick fix! I work for a Post production TV house, and we have Pyramix installed on our Computers. We need to use the COmmand 8 with MIDI. We have USB to MIDI converters, but wondered if it was possible to work a command 8 with MIDI through Pyramix.
Any Advice? Cheers Andy Devine |

Re: C8 and MIDI
I'm not sure what you mean...
One possibility: The C8 can work as a generic MIDI controller in standalone mode. The faders and knobs can be mapped to standard MIDI continuous controllers, and possibly the Pyramix can make some use of this. Of course, they're only 7 bit controls at this point, but that's MIDI. Read the manual and decide whether it can do aanything useful with MIDI for you. USB to MIDI converters are not needed, nor would they work for this. There are MIDI ports on the back of the C8, and those should work just fine on their own. In standalone mode, USB should simply be ignored. In 'non standalone' mode, you better have a very recent Digi system (6.4+) to talk to or else the C8 won't do anything useful. Best of luck, -monte- |
