Mbox/Powerbook problems w/ recording analog audio
Anyone who can help me here would definitely be hero for the day....here it goes
I am running ProToolsLE w/ an MBox on a Mac Titanium G4 powerbook 666Mhz. To this setup I have only a Rane analog mixer through which I have been recording live DJ sets for may months. Typically when recording w/ ProToolsLE I can watch the progress of the stereo recording as waveforms in my edit window. There are two stereo waveforms: one for the right audio and one for the left. Lately soemthing very strange has been occuring with this once dependable system. When I record, both waveforms appear but the top half of them is cut off while the bottom half is left unaltered. I am going nuts with this problem as I don't know if it is an Mbox issue, a ProTools issue or both. Right before this strated happening I had a very aggressive recording session where the incomming audio was very loud and there was lots of clipping. Could I have blown something int he Mbox w/ this? In my Mac? Also, I have found that the problem does not involve the rectified waveform option in the preferences. Any advice? Please? Anyone? Alejandro |
