Good advice. Thanks. Replacement is on the way. Thank you Digi Support for your help.

So I received a replacement unit, it was broken. Plus it was a used/refurb unit. Not happy. :/

You have every right to be disappointed here. Very sorry for the problems. Passing this on to the RMA dept now to connect with you and resolve this.

I worry that the bar has been set so low that when a user has two bad experience in series (after previously being assured the situatioon will receive elevated attention)... that we call this "great customer service"... it is simply appropriate response.

I agree YY that its been absent for quite some time and that any level is welcomed so im not taking aim, Im just saying lets not get carried away with defining this as "great".... great wouldve been a properly working unit as promised. (or a free upgrade to 11 upon second fail)

imo

As you said great as compared to several weeks ago and yes long overdue.

I think quality is something we should use - So there should've been better quality the first time he got the hardware unit and that would resolve the issue without the need for customer service

Or even the second time if the quality of been up to par he would not have to have had extra customer service either

But I think it's very distinct customer service and quality - Very good customer service can ease the pain of very poor quality - at least a few times anyway

And yeah I think that ought to hand out more fee copies of PT11 also

Honestly, I would love a free copy of PT11 or even PT10 for that matter, something like that would make me stick with Avid. Barring that I will probably bail altogether after this. Just too much wasted time and hassle - and I am talking years here. Nowadays there are some great alternatives out there, some of which I already own. I agree, so far the support I have received as a result of this post has been great, I hope this continues to be a forum where customers can reach out to Avid with problems and get timely support. It's just a shame that it had to come to this, all the wasted time, headache, etc., and then I had to create a post like this to get customer service. Oh well. Hoping for the best right now. Thanks Digi Support.

P.S. I am currently waiting for the second RMA unit to arrive.

The second unit was a new unit and it works great. I also recieved a discount coupon for a PT11 upgrade which is nice of them. Oddly enough I just received an email from a "logistics intern" Cesar Romero at Avid stating that they haven't received one of the the RMAs back yet. Fedex shows the first one was delivered last Friday 4/12/2013 which is the same day I shipped the second unit back to them which is in transit. Hopefully this is just a miscommunication on their part. Thanks again -Frank
