Default sonic maximizer

I happend to have sonic maximizer 462, and want to give it a try if it enhances the sound of eleven rack. But the question is how do I connect sonic maximizer to my eleven rack and my digi 002 rack.
I'm guessing signal path goes something like this. Correct me if I'm wrong
eleven rack -> Sonic Maximizer 462 -> Digi 002 rack.

Can you tell me how to connect sonic maximizer with 11r and digi 002r

Here's the picture of eleven rack and digi 002 set up

also included the back panel of sonic maximizer 462

well without really looking at the specifics, one way would be to set the OUT of the guitar track to an OUT of the 002, say 4. Connect OUT 4 to the IN of the Sonic Maximizer, the connect the OUT of the Sonic Max to say IN 5 of the 002, and of course set up a Audio track in PT with the IN set to 5.

I believe you could also hook it in to the FX loop of the 11R.

Or get the BBE Sonic Sweet bundle, and use the plugin like i do

to properly use a sonic maximizer, you would use the outputs l-r of the 11r and feed the ins of the maximizer and the outs of the maximizer into the 002 into pro tools.

it is a phase correction tool and plugging it in the fx loop on the 11r would negate much of the effect as it goes through the cab processing. not saying it cant sound good or anything, just how the unit is meant to work in theory.

honestly have not been a fan of it in many years. would use it occasionally live on the guitar mics if the guitar did not want to cut that night. but always made it feel a bit sterile and to perfect for me. but it can quickly clean up a tone w some mud in it.

Yeah, you can use it both ways as the guys described earlier.

I too have the 482i that I originally purchased to run thru the FX loop of my Peavey 5150 head, and I just LOVE it! I have been thinking tho about getting the plug-in version to use when recording & compare it to the rack unit to see if I can really discern a difference between the 2...

Default Re: sonic maximizer

Sorry to re open this thread but I am desperate and cannot seem to get this working. My set up is as follows.

I am running a DIGI 003 and a BBE 482i Sonic maximizer.
I would like to think that i understand basic signal flow. I hope someone can help.

From output 5 on the 003 I go into the A channel of the BBE.
From the output of the BBE I go into input 5 on the 003. Like the manual says.

I try to run the BBE as an insert on my final mix. When I insert the proper I/O I see audio on the Pro tools meters, hear no audio, and also see no signal running to the BBE.

If someone can please give me an exact run down. I have configured all sorts of I/O settings, swapped cables and still cannot enjoy this unit I just picked up.

Any help would be great.

Thank you

It sounds like you did your connections according to the 003 Family Setup Guide. Did you also check out Chapter 41: Plug-in and Hardware Inserts in the Pro Tools Reference Guide?

Thank you for the speedy response. I had not thought to look there.

Looking through this chapter and many others, it seems that I have done all that is required and still cannot see signal passing or hear audio.

Thank you for your help, would you be able to offer up any other ideas as to why I am having this issue?
