Anyone try the new HD PODS?
Anyone try the new HD PODS?
Before I got my 11R I was using a POD X3 Live for playing at church. When I got my 11R I got a Peavey Vypyr Tube 60 and Sampera II for playing live at church. I wanted something convenient that had great tone. The Peavey Vypyr sounds very, very good, extremely versatile. Now I'm eger to try the POD HD500. If it's good, pair that with DT50 and that could be a monster rig for live situations. I would like to hear anyones opinion who have tried the HD PODs. Keep Rocking Brothers!

Re: Anyone try the new HD PODS?
Tried one yesterday. It's touch sensitive. Models are a big step up from the last version. But unfortunately didn't get to hear all of the models. -- it's a long story. I can say the Gibson amp, the 800, and the Engl sounded really good.
If your needs are simple the 300 will do the job. If your needs are more complicated and you need an FX loop the 400 will do the job. If your needs are very complex and you need to run two amps in parallel, midi in and out in addition to the midi USB, arrange effects in bizarre orders then you'll need the 500. I didn't buy one because I only need the 300 and they weren't in.

If I get one it will be the HD500, I own a Variax too so it should be great.

Can it rival the 11R in terms of responsiveness and tone in your opinion?

Re: Anyone try the new HD PODS?
I wasn't able to play them side by side... so IIRC correctly about the responsiveness of the 11R, yes. Tone? I don't know. I was going through a different rig. I will say this... it will record very well.
