You pretty much just need a video card with two monitor ports on it, which pretty much any bottom of the barrel card has these days.

You can just get an used Matrox G450 Millennium (AGP) which has proved to be really solid with PTLE systems; I had one (I still have it and I'm keeping it for another PC I'm going to assemble) and it was working great, I just upgraded to a Matrox P750 because I needed to do A/V post work and needed a TV out for video preview.
You can get a G450 preatty cheap on ebay these days, then you just download and install the updated drivers for XP, do some settings and preferences and off you go: with PT 6.4 or later you don't even need to do any settings to the PT windows anymore: they automatically load and line up one on each screen, and the main PT window already load stretched across the two screens. Once you work with two monitors in PT you'll never want to go back.

Hope this helps

L.G.

I agree that you dont really need the best graphics card for this kind of work but I use an ATI Radeon 9250 (agp - 128Mb) and the right secondary screen which is the one using a digital to analogue converter is always slightly blurry and discoloured compared to the primary one.

If you are running LCD monitors, you really need to run them at their native resolution. My Acer 1912's look great with a 64mb eVGA card as long as they are set to 1280x1024. I even have the main screen wired thru a VGA splitter which runs a 17" LCD at my keyboard station. Now I want to sell the 19's and get a Dell 24". Oh, to be rich...
