Same here on Mac Pro, and if you are doing a clean install I would actually advise you do the 10.15.4 update because that allows you to use your iCloud plan as "dropbox". Been very good here actually (the 10.15.4 & 2020.3 combo)

I know that there is lots of info about Catalina out there but I'm a bit overwhelmed with it all. Is there a post here (or can someone on this thread help out) with a summed-up answer for the pros and cons of upgrading to Catalina. I'm currently on Mojave.

Simply put now that I have those iCloud folders to share, would not want to live without. Also seems to run better than Mojave so better compare to High Sierra if you want to something older.

Thanks JFreak.
I have Mojave on my laptop which I use mostly for non-music related tasks but I do run Pt sometimes on it while I'm away from home.
My main studio computer is High Sierra and I'm most afraid of updating that one.
Nervous about compatibility with other software, UAD, Waves, NI etc.. just wondering of there is some kind of master list of Catalina compatibility.

Keep your studio computer in High Sierra and test Catalina on your laptop? Just do a clean install to empty system drive, upgrade install does not work very well.

Thanks JFreak. Clean install to a system drive is a bit daunting for me on the laptop as I only have the one drive. How would you go about doing that? I'm a bit locked down here so getting an external drive right now is a bit of an issue.

Well obviously you need some place to keep your stuff while you are rebuilding the system. Maybe you need to wait until you get a drive that you can use?

Sounds like it.
If it's not too much trouble, assuming that I can find an external to use... could you lay out the steps for me?
I'm assuming that I'd clone my main drive, create a blank partition on a new drive, install Catalina, but how do I get all of my prefs etc. back? Sounds a bit painful.
