Default Is there a list of approved external firewire 400 hard drive available?

Is there a list of approved external firewire 400 hard drive available anywhere? Yeah I know about the oxford thing so don't waist your time with explanations about that!

Simple question, simple answer please! Yes or no, is there a list of external firewire 400 hard drive approved by digi available anywhere? Y or N.

Thanks!

Avid and Glyph.

Non-official as long as you have the right chipset,Oxford 911+, 924, 934 then should be fine.

Ok Sir.

So my next question is:

Is there a list available somewhere of external firewire 400 hard drive manufacturers with the Oxford 911 built-in?

I don't know of a list, but the top choices seem to be Glyph, OWC, and Lacie. The OWC's, in my opinion, are the best bang for the buck. Solid drives and enclosures without the premium price tag.

umm.. They do they enclosure only it seems, they don't manufacture the hard drives to put in... right? No sorry I see they built the drives also.

Oh well... Nope. The enclosure only...

Anyways;

Ok. I run PT Le via an MBox2 Pro and use an intel iMac with firewire 400 port.

Wil this one be ok?

OWC sells BOTH prebuilt and cases and drives separately. Buying the enclosure separate is nice you can the ports you want can get exactly what drive you want. Putting it together takes about 10 minutes, 15 if you've never done it before.

Cool, so 10 will be ok!
I was not aware that the oxford chipset was part of the encloruse, not (necesseraly ) of the drive itself hence the confusion in my mind.

Thanks for your help guys! You rock!
