Default Bummer...

Although I don't have my own 5.1 yet (a matter of days), I've been working on it in a client's studio (lovely audio!). One first obvious issue was encountered when I slaved DP 2.72 to PT like I always do. With the new version, DP won't slave when bouncing in PT, however it will slave fine when playing (or recording) PT. I assume that all MTC transmission is suspended while bouncing. What would the advantage of that be?

-Although I have not yet tried it with DP, MTC is still transmitted during a Bounce To Disk (assuming MTC to Port is enabled in the Session Setup). When Bouncing, my remote device (a Digi001 system) slaved without problems.

-I will post my results with DP in the next day or so.

Hi Brent,

Thanks for trying to figure this out. The system I was using in that studio was a Mix 24 with some vintage farms, and of course MTC to IAC bus was enabled, just like I do in 5.0.1. A piece of information that's bizzarre is that, although DP 2.7.2 didn't slave during bounce, it would station exactly at the TC reading where I'd cancel bouncing or at the end location of the bouncing selection. In other words, it's like DP wouldn't move, but it would spot exactly the stop location of PT. As I said, DP would chase OK when just playing or recording in PT.

I have experienced the same problem at a friend's studio. No MTC transmission while bouncing with DP slaved through IAC. Also strange that you have to assign the 'send MTC to' setting in the session setup window everytime you start PT 5.1.
