Yea the point is you need a boot drive that can "see" the new NVMe drives, which in cheesegraters' case means Mojave or later. I'm not sure if the updaters and recovery option are up to the task now.. maybe better with Catalina. Internals and USB are working fine nevertheless.

I am really looking forward to “Sidecar” in Catalina, which let’s you use an ipad as a second display.

Catalina betas don't support old cheesegraters, you knew that didn't you?

Yes, but the official release will, won’t it?

Nope. End of support according to Apple. But who knows what will be hacked by others. Lots of discussion on this in the usual Mac geek places.

I am so bummed to hear that.
I’ve been out of the loop, which is why I haven’t been on here for so long.

Very sorry for the accidental (and offensive) typo. I meant "geek" Edited in the original.

I edited my quote of you. You are now free to be offensive in other ways.

I think I am lined out now so thanks again to everyone.

#1 move boot drive SM951 and adaptor from slot 3 to slot 4 (probably makes no diff)
#2 move PTHDN to slot 3
# put Crest adaptor and dual EVO blades in slot 2
Install Mojave from USB stick (because I waited so long to download Mojave it is , version 10.14.6 ,,,hope this does not fritz anything)
