Avid thunderbolt box question
I have a HD2 PCIe pro tools hd 10 rig paired with a 16x16 analog hd io. I also have a license to standard pro tools 11 and 12 if I hook up the hd io to the thunderbolt box will I be able to run my interface with a non hd version of pro tools?
Thanks! |

If I purchase a new iMac with Logic X will I be able to use the thunderbolt core device to use my HD I/O in logic?

Re: Avid thunderbolt box question
Yes with the HDN core audio drivers. You will probably/possibly need a digilink license on your ilok but you should be able to get that from Avid for free if you have an HD I/O.

Re: Avid thunderbolt box question
How do I go about that? Should I register my thunderbolt core device? This license is for if you want to use a different interface with pro tools. I'm looking to use my hd i/o with the avid thunderbolt box with logic x.

Re: Avid thunderbolt box question
Not sure where things get locked.
Just contact customer service through your my.avid account. The digilink license belongs to the HD I/o which needs to be registered to your account. And then inform them that you need the license and give them your system id. If you got the HD i/o recently, you should have had a card to give you that license with the interface.

Re: Avid thunderbolt box question
You have to download the HDN drivers from Avid. The MyAvid site has them. Once the HDN is recognized, the interfaces attached with be automatically recognized.
