Help with Network Settings required!
I am trying to get my Artist Mix to connect to my computer, but with no luck. I am using a router (Airport Express) and have tried all the trouble shooting suggestions I have been able to find on this forum and in the support threads.
The Artist mIx is not being seen by Eucon at all, and here is what I have tried so far using a new network setting in the System prefs (Mavericks, Eucon 3.1) 1) Using DHCP on the Artist Mix - into Router 2) Using a Static IP on Artist Mix - into router 3) Using DHCP direct connect 4) Using Static IP direct connect 5) Different cables 6) Different Ethernet ports 7) Trashing Eucon prefs 8) Different computer (I have a new Mac Mini) 9) Disconnecting the internet Ethernet cable I think it may have something to do with my network settings, as I am in a studio complex and we share an ISP - which I get via ethernet - going into my router. The address for that is 192.168.0.1. My router is 192.168.0.42 using DHCP. Once upon a time it would connect, and then drop out. Now there is no connection at all. My question is: Do I need to set some kind of subnet to prevent the Artist Mix from looking for a connection at the host router? |

Re: Help with Network Settings required!
Hi,
just to clarify, you have your internet coming into the WAN port on the Airport Express (192.168.0.1), and are then sharing that internet connection with the other machines on your network via the network ports and wifi also on the 192.168.0 subnet? If so, that is possibly your problem. Try creating a different subnet such as 10.0.1.1 for the LAN side of your router and hook up one of your ethernet (or wifi) ports to that network (using DHCP or static shouldn't matter - as long as you don't use the same address as the router). The internet will come through this port. Then create a static IP address on your second ethernet port (or only one if you're using wifi for your internet) such as 192.168.16.10, hook up the Eucon to the port and make sure it's set to the same IP range as this port (use 192.168.16.11 in keeping with the example). Does that make a difference?

Re: Help with Network Settings required!
The Internet is coming in from the router 192.168.0.1
This is then coming in to my Airport Extreme 192.168.0.42 The airport extreme is set up in bridge mode, giving my mac the IP 192.168.0.186. Even when I set DHCP on the Artist Mix, the IP is saying 169.254.098.221 I have tried setting it as static to 192.168.0.187 but nothing happens. To set a new subnet for the LAN doesn't seem possible in bridge mode as I get double NAT's and no internet when I change it. I have noticed that there is no green LED lit on the AE on the Ethernet connection from the Artist Mix. I guess this means it is not detecting a connection? Changing ports and cables makes no difference, but all other connections and ports get a green LED with something connected. Does this mean my Artist mix might be faulty?
