PT12, Novation Launchkey 49, Native Instruments Plugin

Hello All,

New user here so bear with me.

I'm using PT12, with a Novation 49 Launchkey Midi Controller. In terms of faders and panning controls in the mixing windows, so far so good.

My issues start when trying to use the Native Instruments plugins. I realize this may be a better question for them, but though i may be able to pass it by here first.

I set up the Launchkey using the HUI protocol in peripherals and all is good there as i previously stated. But when i get into each Plugin from Native Instruments, when i go to their options tabs, i don't see any midi controllers listed anywhere.

Now in their standalone app, it has a midi tab, as seen here: http://www.native-instruments.com/en...gs-in-kontakt/

But in the PT Plugins version, i realize it's setup by PT as it is the host application. But alas, i have no keyboard control or any other control in the plugins.

Does anyone have experience with Novation Launchkey controllers and Native Instruments (Let's say Kontakt) plugin?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Nevermind, i found my answer. It had to do with the way i was using the track and inserting the instrument.

this is the typical thread where someone 2 years from now will have the same issue, find this thread, find out that OP has find the issue but does not list the answer, too normal nowadays

It had to do with where i was doing the insert. If i did it in the mix window, it wouldn't find the midi controller. But if i did the insert directly on the instrument track, it worked.

I hope that makes sense, i'm new to Pro Tools.

Okay, so maybe you found the MIDI control didn't work when using the Audiosuite version of the plug-in?
