Strange session state - display frozen, play/record strange

Somehow I've got my session in a strange state.

When I select play from the transport I get audio but the
display shows nothing. When I select stop on the transport, the
levels appear, but are then frozen. Selecting record does
nothing. It won't respond to my command-8 at all. Selecting a region
of audio causes the audio to start playing, even if I had previously
been stopped.

Other sessions behave properly, so whatever has happened, it's unique
to this particular session.

I believe it began when I hit play while the session was still loading.

Has anyone seen this? I couldn't find anything in the user forum on
this, but I'm having trouble even describing the problem, so searching for
it is tricky at best.

Hmm... sounds strange indeed.

It's only THIS session ? PT displays fine on other sessions after this one has been played ?

Have you tried creating a new, blank session, and importing all session data, including Tempo Map, from the old session ?

Hi David,

Sorry for the very long delay in replying. I ended up
exporting the audio files and otherwise starting over
from scratch.

I'll go back to the original broken session and try what
you suggest. It doesn't appear that many people have
hit this, so hopefully I'll never see it again. Nevertheless,
it would be good to have a workaround if it does.
