Default PTHD11 owners treated same as PTHD 9/10?!?!

There are enough threads about OTHER issues with AVIDS new licensing. Let's stay on topic:

Here is the quote for FAQ. This is the biggest problem for me since they appear to be charging the SAME amount to current PTHD11 owners as people UPGRADING from PTHD 9/10 (despite the fact that people who upgraded to PTHD11 already payed as much as $1000 for that upgrade).

From FAQ:
"Q: I already own Pro Tools 11 or Pro Tools HD 11. How do I get access to upcoming product features and updates?
A: Moving forward, access to upgrades will only be available through an upgrade/support plan. Existing Pro Tools 11 customers can take advantage of this at the time of the next upgrade release (any time by the end of 2015). The upgrade/support plan for v11 owners will be available soon, and the cost of this 1-year plan will be $199 for Pro Tools | software owners, and $599 for Pro Tools | HD Software owners."

Same as an upgrade.
And I Never liked the resolved (1000.00 to) $600.00 fee for HD.

Not much to discus here. It's all laid out...Shop around and change, Hold or keep buying in.

PT11 had been out for almost 2 years. Under the old system you would have paid $599 to upgrade to HD12. So the price for you is the same as it would have been.

So is it that you think it should be cheaper for you, or more expensive for them? Because you would have paid $599 under the old system as well.

Just don't feel it's fair for those that paid (a substantial amount) to get to PT11 from PT9/10 a year ago to have to pay the same as those that didn't upgrade back then. I wouldn't ask anyone to have to pay more, so let's say I'd hope they gave us a discount.

I don't recall the exact upgrade policy back then, but I don't think they were giving people on PTHD7 the same upgrade option as those already on PTHD9 to get to 10/11. But maybe I'm wrong.

well based on what Avid is saying about what's in PT 12 - it's not worth $599 and frankly I'm on HD 10 with HDX PT wasn't worth it either!

They've actually gone all over the place. When PT10 came out, it was actually $999 to go from HD9, $1499 to go from HD8, and $2499 to go from HD7.

Amid the outrage, they offered only HD9 owners an early version of the support plan, where they would get a year of upgrades for $599, which included the upgrade to HD10.

However, the prices for HD7 and HD8 are still 2499 and 1499, and remain so, AND they don't even include HD11.

I am aware that previous to HD10, prices were cheaper in general.

Sorry, but you guys are looking at this whole thing all wrong...

Avid absolutely must get everyone on PT 11 as soon as possible. Avid absolutely must get everyone currently on PT 11 without a service plan on PT 12 as soon as possible.

Understand that, and you will understand a lot of other things...

I do not work for Avid (their loss)...my only relationship with Avid is that of a customer (when I'm not too poor to buy stuff, like now)...and that hot administrative assistant...that's more of a "thing" than a "relationship" (that should keep them guessing for a while...)

Just rockin'...what more is there?
