OK. I got it now. Turns out that you can´t install pluggo/lowender under an admin-account and then use it as a regular user.

You have to install both under every single user account.

Thanks for your help.

Frank.

Ah, glad you got it sorted. I am single user on each machine so I did not think of that.

While you guys sort out the plug in installs...

I use the waves RBass and the MaxBass on rare ocassion. IMHO neither are as cool as the dbx 120. I wish I still had access to one.

After trying "Lowender" for the first time after years I must say, that it IS pretty close to the 120 and has some additional improvements like the gate that lets you take out uncontrolled rumble in between the impulses you want to enhance. This is somethng the 120 does not have.

great plug for 49$ I must say (except for the install procedure). Hope they release the RTAS-version soon.

Frank.

Just a warning to potential Lowender users: You need a serious monitoring system to be able to hear the effect it produces. Capable of effortlessly reproducing the 20-30Hz range. Otherwise, one might be dissapointed...

Am I right in thinking the Big Bottom plugin isn't a subharmonic synthesizer? I think it just compresses and boosts the low end, right? With an adjustable low pass filter in the circuit which determine how much of the spectrum is affected.

I own Big Bottom plugin. According to what is said in it's manual and what I hear at the output, I think the same as you. Haven't tried the Lowender, but the DBX is MUCH more impressive than Big Bottom. It adds something you feel with your body rather than hear, the exact effect for theatrical LFE.

Thanks fellow audio guys for all the great comments on the bass enhancers. I still use the dbx 120 box and it works great, and it is the only piece of outboard gear I use on a regular basis. Rather than have it running on an aux track all the time, I have it set up to record it's output on an audio track and only record the sub output when I need it. I will give lowender a try though. It would simplify my template if I could use it.

Thanks
