Default Problems With Sound Using Eleven Rack

Hey all

I recently got an Eleven Rack and just hooked it all up (Interface + Studio Monitors) and it was working fine.
Then i installed Pro Tools onto my computer and since then I haven't been able to get any sound through the interface. I tried uninstalling Pro Tools to see if I would get sound as I did before it was installed but this didn't work.
I can still use the tuner on the interface, so it must still be receiving a signal.

Any help would be appreciated, as I have no idea what is causing this and couldn't find much info about it.

Thanks.

I'm not the guy to answer this.....but........

With Pro-Tools Running you need to enable a track to hear the sound......

Are you getting sound w/ just the monitors & the 11-Rack when Pro-Tools in not running?

What about when Pro-Tools in running & through the headphones? Any sound then?

Also make sure the track that you enable has the 11R as the input & not just "guitar input" selected......fwiw

I'd wait for a bigger brain to come along and help you out though......

Hey...welcome too.....

Thanks for your reply.

I don't get any sound through the monitors anymore, regardless of Pro tools being open or not, which confuses me the most. Cause it worked fine before installing.

Just tried the headphones, and i am able to get sound through there, which is a relief.

As for enabling track inputs it gives me "Eleven Rig Mono (L) and (R)" neither of which give any sound.

Does 'Eleven Rack' & 'Eleven Rack DFU' show up in Control Panel>Device Manager>Sound Video and Game Controllers (with 11R switched on)?

If not, re-install the drivers (it can't hurt to re-install them anyway after PT is installed). Install drivers with 11R turned off then reboot with it switched on.

Have you upgraded your 11R Firmware, I think v1.03 is latest;
http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=279504

and v2.01if you have expansion pack.

What version of Pro Tools are you using?

I take it you're using a record enabled Audio Track and not Aux or Instrument Track.

You may also want to try going into Pro Tools Setup>Playback Engine to verify the 11R is there.
Also, Setup>I/O and click default both on Input & Output Tabs.

11R shows up in the Device manager, and it says all the drivers are working correctly and displays the version as, 5.10.0.5115
But when i try to run that update it says I have no drivers and to install them.

I have Pro Tools 8, which came with the 11R
The drivers (as far as I know) just installed when i installed Pro Tools.
But i might try and download the drivers are do it that way..

If i try to update the drivers under device manager using the Cd it tells me I have the latest version of the drivers already..

And 11R was there under Playback options, and i set the options under I/O to default, though it didn't change any options.

Thanks for your help.

What version of Pro Tools are you using and also what operating system? The following advice is for a PC platform not Mac.

Firstly if you haven't done so already, update your 11R Firmware using the links provided previously. Make sure you read the instructions that come with the download on how to do so properly.

I would suggest upgrading to Pro Tools v8.05 (free update) download from here;
http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/self...p?DocId=393667

Do not uninstall current version of Pro Tools. Do not open Pro Tools & make sure 11R is switched off then run 8.05 update installer.

Keep 11R Turned off.
Go to device Manager >Sound video and Game controllers>double click Eleven Rack>Drivers Tab>Uninstall (agree to prompt).
Do the same for Eleven Rack DFU
Reboot computer.

Now download 11R drivers from here;
http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/self...3=1450&Hilite= Scroll down to Pro Tools USB Device Drivers>Eleven Rack Drivers link & select appropriate Operating System Drivers.

Install drivers with 11R switched off then reboot with 11R switched on.

I have confidence that this will get you up & running as I strongly suspect compatibility issues. The Firmware, Drivers and version of Pro Tools that I have provided links for are all compatible with each other.

Great, now go spank that orange box for being so naughty!

Oh, and now might be a good time to backup your system so that you can revert back to it's current state in case your 11R doesn't like getting spanked.
