Faster screen redraws how??
I have a G3400 (400MB ram) with 4 * 10K SCSI drives on my system. I noiced that when I zoom in and out the redraws get really sluggish as the track counts nears 64. I also noticed that not much disk activity is occuring when I do the zooms so will the zooming speed increase if I upgrade to a faster CPU?? Can I get some feedback on wether this would be worth it - sluggish redraws annoy the hell out of me.
Thanks

Re: Faster screen redraws how??
Overviews are calculated from disk when zoomed close. So just the way it is, disk activity and so on...
But I found that on my G4/400 it is slow when not zoomed, so maybe less colour or sth will help? Didn't try it... Przemek. [ August 07, 2001: Message edited by: Przemek ]

Re: Faster screen redraws how??
A faster graphics card with more graphics RAM helps. Try the Radeon PCI 32MB. It'll be much faster then the Rage 128 in your G3/400.
