Default Here are the important updates since 2015.

Here are the important PT updates (except fixed bugs) since 2015.

2015: 5 updates
2016: 3 updates
2017: 2 updates
2018: 2 updates
2019: 1 update.

If Avid completes the year without updates (while there is so much to develop), the trend is 2020: zero update ....

Are you seriously thinking that there won’t be any updates at all 2020

Why do we need updates when we need bugfixes FIRST??

Whether we like it or not a DAW with too many feature updates bringing bugs and more issues isn’t worth crap so I vote for a Super Stable PT version like 12.4 and HD 8.1.1 and even 10.3.10 BEFORE we get more features which everyone here knows will give us more heacaches before the DAW is fully functional.

So IMNSHO I vote for all the errors like 9371/9173/9093/30001 etc etc especially the -9173 errors and the Eucon problems be fixed before anything else as just throwing in new stressed out halfasses features just to calm down some is Not the right solution. A stable foundation first and then ARA2 and track folders and clip bins etc will be very welcome!

I caricature, to show the exhaustion development side. The discussion on updates has already been made. Repeat: Avid has promised developments in return for its pricing policy. Not debugging, but development.

If you do not need new stuff or improvements (that's what I'm waiting for: improvements), you do not know the other Daws. I prefer PT at the base, and I always come back to it, but it is late on crucial aspects, not just ARA2.

New features and bug fixes aren’t mutually exclusive.

It shouldn’t be either or.

I just wish they’d use these subscription dollars to re-write this damn app from scratch.

I agree we need something done to PT and ditch a lot of the old unusable code to make it lighter and less prone to small errors with plugins like other DAW’s we use like Live10 Suite and LogicX. Those programs just feels light and swift and very very few bugs. I can’t remember once when Live10 or 9 Suite has ever crashed or hanged since we bought that with Push2 but cant say the same about PT Ultimate unfortunately.

With every feature a new chance for a bug is introduced. Cut features, cut bugs. I'm sure we don't want that.

That sadly would be the best way to guarantee more instability. I doubt Avid lacks the engineering organization skills/depth to do that, and I'd hope they not try. They can't even ship a Avid Link or Cloud collaboration stuff that works, and OK that may be out of very different groups, but it highlights there are still deep engineering/product management organizational problems.

Classic innovators dilemma. Very easy to spend a lot of time frittering around the edges, and not really going anywhere significant... and on the other hand very hard to kill your baby.

So priority one for me: keep stability over everything else, get working down a priority list of enhancements but do not sacrifice stability. Hopefully with lots of the CPU stability improvements in 2019.x more (skilled/core) developers will be free to work on other improvements. I hope they don't end up spending all their time fixing Avid Link and cloud crap.

Wow that's a horrible trend.....what a shame. They need to do better. I am not spending money so it doesn't directly affect me but I feel bad for the current subscribers over the last year, they have seen no movement.

I also read someone is waiting for Folders in the clip bins area? Really? If that hasn't happened I don't think it's ever going to happen......That request has to be about 5 years old now.
