S6L AVB/Gainsharing Questions

Hello,
Ive got a couple of quick questions I'm hoping you can answer for me.

1. Is it possible to use the S6L's AVB to playback tracks from a non-pro tools program? ex. Qlab or Ableton

2. When sharing I/O between 2 S6L systems. is it possible for the systems to access each others local desk I/O?

Yes and yes

For the playback: you will loose the control options but the playback should work

As far as I know it's not possible to access the other consoles local inputs.

You can only share from a stagerack!

1. Yes, but you won't have a nice playback/record control from the console.
2. No. It seems to be a popular feature request, so things may improve in the future.

@Valentyn: you realy think a popular request is enough for avid? What is the most popular request on ideascale? Or the only feature missing that almost all consoles have except the avid Venue line?

My understanding is AVB audio between the consoles (sharing a stem, a talkback, etc) is something that should be possible in a near release

One other quick thing, how to user layouts transfer between frame sizes? if I'm prepping on a 32D for use on a 24D should i not use the far left bank?

AFAIR yes, last 8 faders are cut when loading a show.

In current software getting Local IO from one console to another is not possible, only the Stage IO is shared.


Coming soon though, you may be able to send whatever you want to another console, talkback direct out, orchestral stems, etc...
