Default One for the guys who own Hd...

I'm looking at a small hd set up and want some track count info from some of you guys who are knee deep in it now.
Assuming a 44.1 recording, with only a hd core and the right scsi drive set up, do you think it's realistic for me to expect to get 32 tracks with quite a few plug ins...mainly comp, eq etc and maybe a couple verbs; and heavy edit density and automation? What's been your experience so far with the hd in regards to track counts and plug in capacity? Thanks for your help.
