Default Hip-Hop anyone?? Feedback appreciated!

Here are links to 2 new songs from "Audio Demolition", the group that I DJ/Produce for. These songs were completely sequenced, recorded, mixed and mastered using my Digi001 and Pro Tools LE 5.2.1. I use a Mac G4/800 Quicksilver with a gig of ram, Korg TR-Rack module, and an M-Audio Oxygen Midi Controller, among other things. All vocals were recorded with a Rode NT-1. I use to do all of my drum programming with my Akai MPC-2000, but this is the first time I used Pro Tools exclusively for sequencing and sampling, and I am VERY pleased with the outcome. Feedback and constructive criticism is always welcomed.

overall it sound good but one thing i feel is missing is a bass. or bass line in take a hit it sounds kinda lacking there. the other track is cool too. but again i feel somethings missing in the low end. typicialy in hip hop you can feel the punch of the kick and bass. and the drums are usually a little louder in the mix. listen to any eminem song and the kick and sanre usually rival or surpass the vocals in the mix hope this helps. great sound on the vox

Thanks Art. You really hit it on the head. If there is one problem I have it is getting my drum sounds "punchy" and to really sit right in the mix. I'm not sure if it's the actual sounds I'm using, how they're eq'd or my overall mix. As for the basslines- they are there, just a little too low obviously. Any suggestions would definitely be appreciated. Thanks again.

Nice work! I could have used a deep bass line myself, and I thought it sounded a little too much like M&M w/ dr. dre, but the production was really tight! What was the vocal chain used? (preamp, compressor, etc...)
