Default Dual Cinema Display/Dual CPU? !Newbie!

Can you run 2 22"Cinema displays off the stock Gforce2 vid card in the G4 Silver?
Should I get a Dual 800 & hope that PT will work with both chips eventually or get a single 867?

Hey beatboy:

There is only one Apple Display Connector (ADC) provided for Apple displays (15", 17" or 22" Cinema) on each G4 Quicksilver via the NVIDIA GeForce2 MX graphics card.

You can not run two Apple Cinema Displays off any G4 Quicksilver without adding a second graphics card (733, 867 & 800 DP) or a VGA - ADC adaptor (800 DP with TwinView).

I run a G4 800 DP with its second processor disabled while running Pro Tools. It seems happy.

Plus, I am an eternal optimist. When Pro Tools is OS X Native, I ASSume the dual processor will really shine.

Hope this provides some insight for you!

Best Regards

There is no VGA to ADC that I'm aware of. Are there plans for one??

Well. The question may be. Is there a VGA to DVI? Gefen has the DVI to ADC box.

actually there is a vga to adc adaptor out there.....www.gefen.com.....look at the products section and the adaptors. we ordered one so that we can extend our adc flat panel to the other side of the room. it was cheaper than extending the adc itself. our converter box isn't in yet but when it comes i'll post a note saying how it works. keep in mind you lose the usb hub by doing this. i really wish there was an inexpensive card that supported dual adc and was supported by digi....is that too much to ask????
