Default Mbox questions

Just thought I'd post this in here as well. . .
I've been looking into purchasing Mbox, it would be my first experience with home recording, and a friend had reccommended it. I am currently using a Mac G3 with OSX. . .But eventually would like to purchase an iMac or Powerbook strictly for recording purposes. My question for all of you is: How well will the program run on the G3 that I have now, and what tools will I need to purchase aside from the Mbox itself that are neccessary, I know headphones and mics and such. How easy is Mbox to use? What I want to be able to do is: record multiple tracks, mix, edit, master, and make it into a cd. Is Mbox able to do all this? Thanks for your help.

honestly?
i got a powerbook 12" instead of an ibook...
ibook is okay, but for amplitube or softsynths.... g4 is the way to go.

mbox is a cool 2-track i/o, but if you need to record multiple tracks simultaneously (ie - drums), you'll need a solution with more i/o (like the 002).

Other than the i/o, the software is solid and very flexible

Your G3 will work fine unless you start loading up Chip heavy plug-ins like Amplitude and Reverbs Then, you wish for a G4. I use a G3 Ibook for recording in and then transfer to G4 for mixing.
Good Luck and have fun!

I wasn't planning on getting very plugin heavy with effects and stuff, I think amping my amp with whatever effects i have running straight to the amp would be just fine for now. And the tracks that i'd like to put on would be: vocals, one or more guitar tracks on a single song, drum loops, percussion, keyboards etc.
