Default Pro tools 7 switching computers

I have a brand new Pro tools 7.1.1 but its not compatible with my mac book since its a OS X 10.6. What can I do to simply upgrade to 8? Should I install it on my old power mac to register it and then buy the upgrade to transfer to my new mac book? Please help im stuck. thanks in advance.

Well you can purchase PT 8 from the avid store and the PT upgrades come with full installers just make sure you register it so you can get the right updates in your avid account.
