Default PT7.4 and PT8 problems with melodyne plug-in and ozone 4

hey there,

after months (almost years) of a perfect working PT system i'm (finally) back with a problem:
i recently purchased celemony melodyne plug-in and it starting shooting my audio interface down. the message "lost communication with audio interface..." appeared frequently. i also had cpu-clipping, so i increased the buffer size.
then no clipping appeared anymore, but still my audio interface was shot down.
now i upgraded to PT 8 and downloaded ozone4 trial. i never had any problems with ozone3. but i now have with ozone 4: "lost communication with audio interface..."
what is going on? anyone any idea? is my system too slow for even only one plug-in of melodyne or ozone4?
oh, one more thing, with ozone4 this problem even occurs if i'm not even working - with just the pro tools session open.
everything else works fine. great new PT version. very nice improvements! finally there is chorus etc available for non-destructive use. congratulations!

with kind regards,

daniel/Germany

Daniel - can you provide a little more info on your system, so that we have enough to troubleshoot properly? We don't even know which Digidesign hardware you're using.

Please see the Help Us Help You thread for details.

Did you resolve this?

I'm experiencing similar problems with the exact same plugins.

I'm having similar problems with this exact same configuration as well.

Make sure you are recording to a different internal audio drive or an external firewire hard drive which has the oxford chipset in it and is connected via a sepperate firewire buss.

You may have to install a sepperate firewire pci or pci express card for this to work.

I still haven't been able to sort this problem out though.

I am gonna try and uninstall ozone 3 maybe? or Ozone 4 and see if my probelms still continue.

Reducing CPU cores alleviates this issue, arghhhh.

Not with the Melodyne Plugin - that's not a Rewire version.
