Default switching computers

i'm trying to install PT 6.0 LE (and then all updates for 6) on my imac G5 and it's telling me that my serial number is invalid. i'm switching over from my powerbook G4 to the imac. do i have to uninstall on my powerbook first or something? transfer ownership to myself? i've been searching the forums and the answerbase for about an hour and can't find an answer.

I'm having the same issues. Can someone please let me know what is the correct way to indicate to Digidesign that we are moving the licence to a different computer? The issue is that if you buy your product used, then you have to fax in a transfer of ownership form. However, if you are only switching platforms (ie pc to mac) then how do you do let digidesign know?

Can someone from Digidesign post an answer as soon as possible?

I don't want to wait until wednesday until the offices are open again to phone.

Thanks!

You don't need to notify Digidesign. If you're switching from one Mac to another, using the same version of ProTools, you just use the same serial number again. If you're switching between Mac and Windows, you need to use the appopriate serial number for the version you're installing.

There's no interaction with Digidesign to enable the ProTools LE software. All it takes is an appropriate serial number for the version you install, and Digidesign ProTools LE hardware.
